Wnt16 as a new regulator of vascular calcification

Objective: Vascular calcification contributes to the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis, hypercholesterolemia, end stage renal disease, and diabetes, and is caused by genetic ablation of matrix Gla protein (MGP) in mice.
